In 2000 Jack Manilla was retained by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines to train/certify their Asia-Pacific Fleet officers and crews sailing from ports in China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. For 6-weeks in the Asia-Pacific, Jack Manilla travelled ship to ship as a Certified National Swimming Pool Foundation Instructor successfully conducting live classroom 16-hour courses and for all ship’s officer on each individual ship while at sea. A second live classroom 12-hour course was also conducted for all ship maintenance crews. Those officers that passed the required written examination and were officially recognized as Certified Pool Operators, CPO®. Ship’s crews that passed their examination were awarded certificates. The NSPF® Certified Pool/Spa Operator® (CPO®) Certification program, is the world’s leading verifiable pool and spa training credential. Additionally, on-site, hands-on training for all ship’s crews was conducted to access and improve skill levels in pool and spa operations.
