Jack Manilla is the author of “Secrets of The Pink House” and President and Founder of Portofino Pools and Portofino University. He is a man of detail, success and a leader in both commercial and residential pool and outdoor living services. Over his career, Manilla has built several multi-million-dollar midsize businesses as well as two Fortune 500 companies, each exceeding annual revenue of $100 million. Currently, he is the president at the center of Portofino Pool Services & Outdoor Living and Portofino University. His unique combinations of technical knowledge and unwavering organization have made Portofino Pool Services & Outdoor Living the business it is today.

In addition to running Portofino Pools, Manilla is currently Chair, Board of Directors and past Chair-Elect and Secretary, Treasurer of The Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (APSP), the world’s largest and oldest aquatic industry association. Manilla also consults with the APSP regarding the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code training course and is the creator of the FSPA® 60-hour pool service contractor course.

Executive Vice President

A founding co-owner, Paula has senior responsibility for finance, accounting, banking, cash management, HR, administration and data entry.

She is an energetic business executive with a proven record of team building, leadership coaching and is highly skilled at handling multiple customer/staff requests and concerns with utmost professionalism and courtesy.

Paula grew up in a family business learning customer relations, bookkeeping and banking skills at an early age. She was employed in the banking industry several years while she attended Youngstown State University where she met her husband Jack Manilla (President/Owner), married and raised four (4) children. Paula is a model of servant leadership and is a major key to our success teaching others through her daily actions: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Generosity, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.


Account Manager

Originally from Fairfax, Virginia, Shane moved to Jacksonville in 2009 after spending a year in Sao Paulo, Brazil, teaching conversational English. While in Jacksonville, Shane has helped open numerous successful restaurant establishments over the years and held the position of food and beverage director at one of the most prestigious country clubs in Ponte Vedra.

In 2013, Shane switched his career to the swimming pool industry to allow for more family time with his now 4-year-old son. Originally, he started as a service and maintenance manager to learn the ins and outs of the industry and has now transferred over to Account Manager for Portofino’s sales department.

In his spare time, you can find him with his son on the water, whether it be surfing, boating or fishing. Watch out for this one, as he is an ace on the golf course, as well!




Field Services Director

After attending Central Methodist College and Central Missouri State University, Dudley joined Portofino in 1996 as a Water Quality Management Technician. He then worked in both the renovation department and the equipment repair and installation department. Dudley also spent 6 years as the Maintenance Supervisor before being promoted to Field Services Director.

Outside of Portofino, Dudley enjoys spending time fishing, boating, as well as other recreational water activities.

Our Chaplain attends weekly team huddles and assists employees in hospital care, family and marriage care, substance abuse, stress management, and interpersonal conflicts. Our chaplain can also perform Baptisms, Marriages and Funeral Services. People spend more time at work than anywhere else. But just because they go to work doesn’t mean they’ve left their worries at home. Anxieties crowd out focused work time. Hospital visits create mounting unpaid days off. Illness and death devastate families and burden employees with skyrocketing health care costs. Our employees aren’t the only ones who suffer during crisis. Time after time, I hear fellow small business employers repeat stories of inadequate workplace support programs and feelings of helplessness for their employees. Our Chaplain greatly helps to relieve this anxiety.

Our Corporate Chaplain, Deacon Larry, brings care and compassion to the workplace, where it is needed most, and where it can make a meaningful difference. Because of a boots-on-the-ground approach to ministry, our Chaplain can care for those who need a trusted objective friend in the workplace with complete confidentiality, including all management and owners, assisting those who can’t bear their burdens alone anymore.
